Repotting a Juniper sargentii
The tree was positioned in the pot and rotated back and fourth to get it to “sit down” into the compost mix nicely. By heaping the compost mix slightly in the centre of the pot when the tree is positioned and rotated back and fourth down into it, it ensures that there will be no voids under the centre of the root-ball.

The compost mix was then worked in around and over the root-ball using a chopstick to compact the particles and remove any voids in the mix. I have found that the best technique having inserted the chopstick into the compost mix is to wiggle the chopstick back and fourth rather than using the chopstick as a ram into the compost.
