Case history
The tree as collected

This San Jose Juniper was first worked on at a Masterclass in March 1996.

This photo shows the tree before any work was started.
The tree was first "cleaned out" removing all the inner dead foilage, and an old bird's nest.

The tree after initial pruning, and then all the branches were wired and positioned. The tree was fed well, and left in the pot for another year.

The tree two years later

The tree was repotted into a fast draining Akadama/Kiryu mix in a mica training pot in 1998.

The tree was restyled in September 2001, giving it a much more dramatic minimalist look with shari and jin.
