Case history

Here is the tree soon after it’s acquisition in late 2005.

The owner of the Japanese nursery where it came from and I both agreed that it deserved a better pot.
A pot was purchased at the “Green Market” at the 13th Shuga-Ten Shohin Bonsai Show, held in November 2005 at Ueno, Tokyo

A bonsai hobbyist that I met at this show, Isozaki San, kindly helped me (a complete stranger to him) to find this tree and it’s new pot, for which I am very grateful.

The two photos above were taken in March 2006 soon after being repotted into it’s new Japanese Tokoname pot. The left hand picture shows the tree from it’s new front.  The right hand picture is of the back of the tree.  Back branches will be further developed.
As can be seen, the pot has a more obvious “front” too.

After a seasons growth the tree was given a trim, resulting in an improved profile.
