Case history

October 2001.
The tree has been well fed during the Summer months and it can be seen that the pads have filled out, and have been lightly pinched back.

During the Summer months the tree was fed well with "Biogold" fertiliser, and kept in a semi-shaded position.

Tree in summer 2002 The photo shows a close up of the roots, and was taken at the same time as the photo above left.
The roots will need some "adjustment" at next repotting in 2003.
On the left you can see the tree in Summer 2002.
Note how the foilage pads have developed following pinching and refinement.
The tree has been kept in full sun.

July 2003.
The foliage pads are beginning to fill out and develop as envisaged.
The lower left hand foliage pad is a little wide and out of profile.
It will be slowly trimmed back over a few seasons.
