The tree in full leaf
Close up of tree in full leaf

These pictures were taken roughly two months after re-potting and the tree is now virtually out in full leaf. Already some of the larger leaves have been pinched out and could do with a bit more of a thin out to keep the definition of the pads.

Unfortunately a bud did not brake from the base of the lost branch, so unless one comes after the tree has been completely leaf pruned later on we will have to look at the possibility of an approach graft.

Mid April the tree was taken to our Artistic Bonsai Circle group meeting where it was given a thin out, reducing much of the new growth down to a pair of leaves. During this process we also found a good shoot on the lower back right hand branch which would be in a good location to allow to grow and use for the approach graft to replace the broken branch.
The photos show the before and after thinning out images.
