Case history
By the beginning of May 2006 it was evident that something was not right with the health of the tree. It seemed very slow to break bud, and as a precaution in case something was attacking it the tree was treated with a dose of Provado.

Towards the end of May we had another good look at the tree and found that there were several buds around the crown of the tree and some around some lower branches that looked like they were swelling a bit, however there were still areas on the tree where the older needles were turning yellow and dropping off.

There were also areas on the tree where new shoots that were opening were failing shortly after opening.

Detail view of yellowing needles.
