The tree after repotting in March 2003
Close up of lower part of trunk

March 2003.
Here are some views of the tree upon completion of the re-potting into its ceramic bonsai pot, and after the reduction of the ugly right hand root which has now become part of the deadwood element of the trunk above.

The photo on the right shows a detailed view of the carved deadwood elements of the main trunk line.

During the remainder of 2003 the tree continued to develop well. The new shoots were pruned back as they extended and some wiring was also carried out to position the new shoots in the desired position. Later that year the tree was put on show at an Association of British Bonsai Artists symposium dealing with collected trees.
In June 2004 the tree needed a good thin out as the foliage was “running away” a bit, as is evident in the above photo. The photo on the right shows a detailed view of the carved deadwood elements of the main trunk line.
