| Three months on since the tree was re-potted and it’s growing well, with lots of new shoots everywhere.
The tree was taken to our Artistic Bonsai Circle group meeting and along with the removal of some training wire had a lot of the new shoots pruned back to maintain the foliage pad outlines. |

October 2006 and the tree was taken to our Artistic Bonsai Circle group meeting to clean up the jins/shari and apply new lime sulphur. This was toned down by mixing Lac Balsam with the lime sulphur. Black ink can also be used as an additive for this purpose.
The tourniquets, which had been secured around the deadwood, which were holding the position of some of the branches were also removed as these branches had now set. |

In mid October 2006 the tree was taken to the Association of British Bonsai Artists weekend extravaganza and exhibited in a Tokonoma display. It was during this event that the tree was assessed for inclusion in RIBB (Register of Important British Bonsai). |

February 2007.
During the second week the tree was taken to our Artistic Bonsai Circle group meeting, when we had Lee Verhorevoort working with us on our trees for the day.
During the day some areas of the tree were de-wired and all the old remaining protective raffia was removed. Some light pruning was carried out together with the adjustment in location of the main windswept lower branch by using a guy wire attached to the base of the pot. |

This picture was taken during the second week of June 2007 and illustrates how much new growth the tree has put on in the last four months.
Again the tree was taken to our Artistic Bonsai Circle group meeting where again we had Lee Verhorevoort with us for the day.
During the day the foliage was thinned out quite a bit and pruned to create layers within the pad lines. Some further de-wiring was also carried out. |

By the third week in August 2007 more new shoots had been produced and a morning was spent scissor pruning this new growth back to profile, together with wiring some of the strays back into position.
Towards the end of the month the tree was prepared ready to show at Bristol Bonsai Societies exhibition at Westonbirt Arboretum. |
