Tree before repotting
Close up of branches
28th January 2008.
The photograph on the left shows the tree just before it was repotted.
Above we have a close-up of the leaves which are just beginning to open. It would be preferable to have repotted earlier but other commitments did not allow this.
The tree has been over wintered in a cool conservatory at the side of the house.

Roots before cutting
The roots after cutting
The photo above shows two long roots. The tree has not been repotted since 2005.
It should have been repotted in 2007 or even the year before but as these two years were very mild they started shooting very early.

Front view of tree after repotting
Back view of tree after re-potting
6th February 2008. These photos of the front and back of the tree were taken nine days after repotting. The leaves seem to be opening so it appears not to have suffered from late repotting.
The repotting media used was 80% small Akadama and 20% Kuryu.

Tree before trimming
Tree after trimming

13th May 2008.
The two photos above show the tree before and after trimming. This is the third time this year that the tree has been trimmed.
Bio-Gold fertiliser was added on the 8th May and it has also had weekly liquid feeds of fish emulsion.
