These photos show the tree during 1992. It was well fertilised and kept in full sun.

It was found that the tree had put on a large amount of root growth with an abundance of fine fibroue roots due to being planted in the sand mix for a season.
It was decided to plant the tree up in a seed tray, but really it should have been put back in the sand for at least another year but I did not know that at the time.
The roots had thickened up but were not attached to the rock, but just spread over them and growth has been very slow in a bonsai pot.
One week later a clay bonsai pot was obtained and it was transplanted with the minimum disturbance to the roots. A photo was taken at the time, but unfortunately it cannot be found at the present time.
