Using a mini gas torch

   The cut section after burning
After the branch had been cut then it was burnt using a mini gas torch to dress the cut. A fireproof cloth is used to protect the foilage and other branches.

Cut paste was then applied to the cut off area to seal it. When this part of the branch dries off then it will be cut back further.
     
This photo shows the lower branch after part was cut off. This area needs to grow well and fill in over the nexr few years.   Top view of lower branch
