Case history
The tree in Winter image

This tree was collected from a field with the owner's permission in February 2000.

It was planted up in a large plastic container for two years before being put into this chinese pot.

Photo taken March 2005.
Height: 89cm. Spread: 74cm.

These two photos show an approach graft which was done using a flexible shoot from the same tree. It is held in position using two drawing pins to ensure that the cambium layers of the tree and the approach graft are in good contact with one another.
 
The tree after trimming 5th September 2006.
The tree is starting to have some branch structure. This photo was taken after the long branches were cut back.
The branches need wiring and this will be done in February, and the wire will only remain on for a short time as the branches will swell quickly as the tree grows in the Spring.
