With this candle there are less flowers, and so the stem is not so long as in the previous example.

At this stage the flowers have ripened and have been removed.
In these three photos the top of the shoot has been cut off to encourage new buds.
These three photos were taken from another large white pine. In the photo above the flowers are well open and very dusty when touched.
The cobweb in the left photo shows a lot of yellow pollen on it. When removing these flowers then a mask should be worn over the mouth.
