Rear view of the tree in leaf
8th October 2007. These two photos show the tree just as the colours are starting to change to Autumn colours. At the beginning of the season some of the leaves were damaged possibly due to wind burn, and because of this the leaves were not cut off this Spring.

12th December 2007. Again we have the front and back view of the tree after the leaves have fallen off.

3rd May 2008.
The tree is now in full leaf.

The tree in full leaf
View of tree after the leaves were cut off 14th May 2008.
Once the leaves had hardened off then they were cut off. The leaf stalk, or petiole, is left as it serves to nourish the tree and prevents damage to the remaining leaves as it naturally dries up.
This has been done every year except for 2007 when there was a problem with wind burn.
