This photo was taken 1st May 2007, and is the first time that any flowers have appeared on this tree since it has been a bonsai. |
| 10th October 2007. The tree has been fed four times during the year with Bio-gold. It has been trimmed several times as necessary. |

| It can be seen above that one of the problems is the large roots below the soil level which keeps the tree high up in the pot. This is being improved at each repotting. We have quite a good growth of small roots since last repotting, and some large roots have been cut off as can be seen above left. If you compare the two photos on the left you will see that the large root highlighted in red below the three small straight roots have been removed. | |
| This large root on the right was cut in half in February 2001. What is needed now is that we get some new fibrous roots underneath this branch so that it can be shortened. The lower part was scraped and cleaned and the soil built up underneath to encourage new roots. It will be important to see that the soil remains built up in this area. |
