The photos above show the roots after they were hosed down and long roots cut off.
The photo on the right shows all the roots that were in the bottom of the pot. It is 4 years since this tree was last repotted.

The photo on the left shows the tree 10 days after it was repotted.
The potting media used was 70% Akadama and 30% Kiryu.

The photo above shows a close up of the lower trunk and surface roots.
