The tree has been growing well during the Spring as can be see by the photo on the left, and on the right you can see the tree after trimming.

Close up of the base of the trunk.

This close-up of the lower part of the trunk was taken the same time as the photos above.
The lichen may look interesting, but it should be removed before the winter otherwise it tends to keep the trunk wet.
This will be removed using BWB and the moss and weed on the soil will be removed and the pot top dressed
