The tree is looking healthy but does not put on much growth.

The latter part of this year we have had quite a lot of rain and there is a lot of moss on the trunks.
It is important to remove it before the winter as it can cause the wood to rot because it is very wet, and is particularly important with cork bark.

3rd July 2011.
The tree has put on quite a lot of growth this year and is looking very healthy. There were very few flowers on most of the Japanese pines this year.

The old needles were cut off with scissors, and the new needles were cut back to allow in more light as can be seen in the photo above.
